Thought seeing as I asked for this forum I should steal the first post in it. As we all know, starting an army is easy, finishing it is often not so easy. I can bet that we all have at least 1 unfinished army sitting somewhere awaiting that time when we can get round to finally finishing them. (I know my IG are waiting for the second coming of the paintbrush.) But all this said there is still no greater feeling than playing with a fully painted army and painted to a standard you are happy with. Sometimes we just need a kick up the rear to help us finish those models that keep making it onto the table in just their undercoats, or to go back and bring old models back to a reasonable standard. And campaigns and events can be just that kick. So I hereby invite all of you out there with unfinished armies, or just with some new units that you want to paint up to join me in, Arming for Aftermath.Simply state in this thread your intention to join Arming for Aftermath and then use this forum to make a blog of the progress you are making on getting your army ready. You can share ideas and thoughts with the others in the project and encourage each other to finish those armies. Now is the time to prepare, to ready the warriors and Arm for Aftermath. Is an army ever finished?
Mine never are. Having played my Deathguard to- er, death- it's time to dust off the Sons of Malice army.
Currently it includes; an almost finished unit of 11 bolter armed CSM (inc 2 plasma & AspC ),
a not-quite-as finished unit of 11 power armoured Chosen with various close combat bits 'n' bobs
A converted Daemon prince who needs his base sorting,
5 possessed that are undercoated (not the gahstly metal ones),
A Dreadnought, and various terminators in a state of disrepair.
As I've only 1 troops choice so far, another is top priority. I'm thinking of getting a box of Khornate guys (cos you get 12, and I want 11 guys) rather than two more CSM boxes.
Raptors are also on the list, though I'm thinking of using CSM/KB models with the classic/archive jump pack.
I'll get pics up soon.

Of course no army is ever truely complete, but its always best to play with a fully painted army on the table top. I've got some units I'd like to add, but first I am going to complete what models I do have. However I'm glad your intrested and simply make a new thread entitled Arming for Aftermath- Your Army and get working. I look forward to seeing you work.

Well i had origonally planned to finish off my luna wolf army but then i stumbled across my Death Guard and after dusting them off the luna wolves were quickly forgotten, I used to have a 1k pt army list for them but have recently wrote a new list now for a 2k pt army and will be converting a new lord in terminator armour for them and with some minor alterations will be able to cut it down to a 1k pt army list when needed.
I love converting models and this was my main reason for going with the Death Guard in the first place, every single model in the army is converted somewhat (the only acception being the plasma gun weilding marines), these go from very basic replacing the bolt pistols with bolters to full on freaky mutations, my possessed are no acception to this, i hate the horrible metal ones they brought out and much prefer making my own out of the plastic marines+anything in my bits box.
My possessed are the pride of my army, although they have only numbered 3 fully painted models for the past year with the rest only undercoated. For the increase in army size i also added a couple more plague marine squads, so all in all i had to build and undercoat 20 odd marines as well as paint them, the rest of the possessed and another handful of marines that never got past getting undercoated.
This is still currecntly a work in progress, i'll post some pics when my sis gets back from holiday with the digital camera.
Still not too sure about what i'll do for the lord, was thinking about using the Typhus model but with the new plastic termies i think i'll be more likely to go for them and add some spikey bits.

Ah hell I'll join in, gives me a reason to work on my Imperial Guard (who are actually just the 6th British Airborne in disguise). So far I have the Command Squad done.
Quick question though, what weapon can I count Stens as do you reckon? Shotguns?

My intentions are as follows.
Choose between an Alaitoc or Iyanden themed army and start a troop unit.
Use my Airbrush to see its potential in painting an Eldar Grav Tank
Pray longingly for Plastic Valhallens so I can make a Soviet army.

Thanks for all the interest folks. I can say that I look forward to see this project and our armies grow. Also, I've updated the first post with quick links to the current blogs.
